Clairede Dirval @ Temptation Fall's - 28/06/2021

Updated: Aug 17, 2021

I love the Beach venue, one of three at browneyes Magic's Temptation Fall's, and its been so darn hot here (going into our third day of record high temperatures into the 40'sC (high 90'sF), being at the beach sounded like a perfect way to spend the late afternoon. The only way this could have been any better is if I had WIFI at my rl beach so I could have listened to this set from there!

When the early notice came in, I saw a great lineup for the 5/6/7/8pm slots featuring Anek Fuchs/Clairede Dirval/Washed Up Sideways/and JimmyT49 Dukes and thought that I should get together with Roxie and get out there and do some blogging.

We were a tad late but still managed to catch Clairede's first offering of "Tennessee Whiskey". (It seems like every time I hear that tune lately I seem to get something in my eye.) This rendition continued that "tradition" for me and a drum roll at the end sent us into the next two numbers to continue another tradition, a long standing one between Clairede and browneyes. It involves singing about drinking a lot of whiskey and then heading off to "Rehab" (as done by Amy Winehouse.) And that little bit of history will be the sleeping dog that I let lie there today. (No one actually went to rehab, but it seems that there WAS something to do with whiskey...) A story for another day....

Next up was Billy Ray Cyrus' "Old Town Road" and an explanation from browneyes for the stars at the entrance to the beach dance area: Back in the day, browneyes had a star placed for each of the artists that were regular players at her venues. Clairede's spot was every Sunday morning at 10am. There is a lot of "Live in SL" history that is part of these venues and I love to learn about it. I have to thank browneyes and Clairede for their insight into those wonderful days.

Clairede then slowed us down a little with "New Orleans Ladies". She is such an accomplished guitarist, I just love to listen to her make her instrument ring with some awesome fingerpicking. (*goosebumps*)

As she made her way through Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" and "The Chain" and the set flowed into Red Hot Chili Peppers "Soul to Squeeze", I was just mesmerized. Then, just when you might think it doesn't get much better than that, Clairede treated us to a couple of my favorite Led Zeppelin tunes: "Thank You", and "Goin' to California".

She finished her outstanding set with the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" played and sung with such feeling and virtuosity it is hard to imagine a version that might be better, short of the original.

When Clairede Dirval dropped the stream I was smiling... a happy little clam on the beach...

If you get a chance to see this wonderful artist, don't even think about it... JUST GET THERE!

THANK YOU CLAIREDE! & THANK YOU BROWNEYES!

It's a fall day at Temptation Falls and the sim looks wonderful with all the colours of the leaves and the last blast of flowers for the season. It's gorgeous here and worth taking a look, not to men

The Venue is a refit of an older establishment that has been put together in record time by the new owner, CandyKisses. She has done a great job of texturing and making all kinds of little places to

Swamp Water Bluz is looking good with its recent freshening up and they continue trying out new artists, as well as maintaining their "tried and true" crowd pleasers. I haven't blogged from there in
